Zlatan Ibrahimovic biography is about an unpredictable striker on the football field. He is well known for his numerous goals and his temper. Zlatan was born on October 3rd, 1981 in Malmö, Sweden to his Bosnian father Šefik Ibrahimovic and his Croatian mother, Jurka Gravić.

His parents were of a different religion, his father Islam and his mother, Catholic. His parents divorced when he was two. Zlatan grew with his mother who was very strict. He spent a difficult childhood in the populated immigrant district of Rosengard.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was very fond of football while growing. When he was six, he got a pair of football boots as a gift. At the age of eight, he played in FBK Balkan which consisted of Balkan immigrants, here his leadership skills began to show. At the age of twelve, Zlatan joined the Malmö club where he played for four years in the youth team and moved to the first team after.


Zlatan Ibrahimovic started his professional football career for Malmö FF in 1999. He then helped his second division club to leap to first division the next season. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was then signed to AFC Ajax.

After six months of good performance in Ajax, he was disqualified for five matches due to his aggressive behavior on the field. He played for Sweden in the world cup 2002 in Japan and Korea,  where he played against Argentina and Senegal. After four years in AFC Ajax,  he was transferred to Juventus F.C; his transfer cost 19 million euros.

Zlatan lead Juventus F.C to a two Serie A championship. Unfortunately,  the club was stripped of these titles when the club management was charged with fixing matches in the infamous Calciopoli scandal, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic was forced to transfer to Inter Milan in 2006, his transfer was for 25 million euros. In Inter Milan he successfully won three straight Serie A title and got his first league scoring crown in 2009.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was later transferred to F. C Barcelona in 2010. F. C Barcelona paid 46 million euros. In Barcelona, he showed he was a tough player and was suspended for a total of ten matches. The disagreement and conflict between him and his coach Pep Guardiola contributed to his leaving F.C Barcelona.

He moved to AC Milan after his contract was purchased for 2011 – 2012 period where he got his second scoring crown. Zlatan transferred to Paris Saint-Germain in 2012 where he got his third scoring title with a career-high of 30 goals leading Paris Saint-Germain to its first league one title in nineteen years.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic later moved to Manchester United in 2016 where he helped the club to win the 2017 UEFA Europa League final. He returned for the next season but could not play due to his aggravated knee injury in late December. His contract was terminated in March 2018 which allowed him to join L. A Galaxy in the U.S.


Zlatan Ibrahimovic released his autobiography, ‘I Am Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ in late 2011. The autobiography talked about his rough childhood and his clashes with Guardiola and other players.

An English version of the autobiography was published in September 2013. In 2015, he starred in the movie’Becoming Zlatan’ which was his biography.  Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a devoted admirer of Ronaldo and is not ashamed to say it. Recently, Zlatan launched his signature scent, titled “Ibrahimovic Parfums” in partnership with the world leading perfume maker Olivier Pescheux.
