Tim Tebow is popular as a former American football quarterback and broadcaster. He is currently a professional baseball player signed to the New York Mets of the Major League Baseball (MLB).

He won the Heisman Trophy in 2007 as a college football player for the University of Florida, and appeared on BCS National Championship-winning teams in the 2006 and 2008 seasons.

Tebow was born in Manila, Philippines on 14 August 1987. His parents, Robert Ramsay Tebow II and Pamela Elaine named him Timothy Richard Tebow. His mother was diagnosed with amoebic dysentery before she got pregnant for him, and eventually fell into temporary coma.

Being that she was on strong medication, the doctors advised Tim’s parents to abort him as the feared that the drugs might cause problems for the unborn child, but his parents’ chose faith over any medical advice.

They decided to keep the pregnancy and eventually, gave birth to a malnourished baby Tim. The family moved to Jacksonville, Florida in the United States when he was 3 years of age, and he was home-schooled following his parents’ Christian beliefs.

Tim Tebow’s Career

Tim joined the Denver Broncos as the 25th pick in the first round of NFL draft in 2010. He signed a 5-year contract with the team as a mark of the start of his career as a professional football player. He scored his first touchdown in the league against New York Jets in October 2010.

In his first season, he made 5 touchdowns, 3 interceptions and 654 yards. Two years down the line he was traded to New York Jets where he suffered a broken rib injury while playing for the team. In April 2013, he was released by the team, and in June the same year, he signed a 2-year contract with the New England Patriots.

At the end of his contact with the patriots, he joined Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 and was released by the team in the same year.

Tebow switched from playing football to playing baseball in 2016. He was later offered a contract with New York Mets. He also played for several baseball teams including Syracuse Mets, Scottsdale Scorpions, Columbia Fireflies, St. Lucie Mets, and Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
