Stephenie “Stevie” Nicks was born in Phoenix Arizona on May 26, 1948. Her father Jess Nicks married her mother Barbara in 1947 after graduating from college where they met.
She had her first guitar – a handcrafted guitar – from her grandfather, Aaron Nicks at a very young age, and learnt from him, popular selections from the country music cannon. Her family frequently moved around, skipping through Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and California. While in high school, Stevie Nicks met Robin who later became her best friend. After their collective achievements as a group, Fleetwood Mac had to let Stevie Nicks go solo when she wanted out in 1981.
