‘Badoo’ as he is popularly called by his fans was born Olamide Adedeji on the 15th of March, 1989, in a slum area of Bariga, Lagos State of Nigeria. He practically grew on the street which informed his style of music that endeared him to his fans and eventually paid off.
He attended schools in Lagos state for his primary and secondary education and later went to Ogun State for his University degree at the Tai Solarin University of Education, where he studied Mass Communication.
Growing up, Olamide nursed the thought of becoming a footballer but fate had it the other way round for him, so he found a passion in music and pursued it fervently.
OLAMIDE MUSIC CAREER
Olamide biography can never be complete with his music career which launched him into prominence. He started out under the record label of ID Cabasa’s Coded Tunes Record which was managed by Toni Payne. He launched his debut album titled ‘Rapsodi’ under the label in 2011 which produced the hit track titled ‘Eni Duro’ that topped music charts and received massive airplay on radio and television stations across the country.The video for this single was creatively shot by the video director, DJ Tee to the amazement of all and sundry.
However, in 2012, he left Coded Tunes records to set up his own record label called ‘YBNL Nation’ and thereafter, he released his second studio album titled ‘YBNL’ which featured Tiwa Savage, Davido and Dammy Krane and Reminisce.
Olamide later released more albums in the subsequent years that followed, winning awards and performing in international shows and concerts. This prompted him to organize the Olamide Live In Concert (OLIC) show and tickets were completely bought before the concert which proved that his fans loved the craziness that he brought into his performance.
Other released albums to his credit include, ‘Baddest Guy Ever Liveth, which was released in 2013, and ‘Street OT’ released in 2014. Another album titled ‘Eyan Mayweather’ was released in 2014 and in 2016, he released the album titled ‘The Glory’.
More so, in 2015, Olamide released a compilation album titled ‘2 Kings’ with Phyno.
