Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo known popularly by his stage name Nasty C is a South African rapper, songwriter and record producer. This article covers Nasty C biography and other facts about him. He was born February 11 1997 in Illovo, Durban, KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa. His mother died in a fatal car crash when he was only 11 months old. He relocated to Durban at a very early age, where he was then raised by his father singlehandedly. He was dubbed “Coolest Kid In Africa”.

He gained fame after the release of his chat-topping single “Way It Go” by DJ Switch featuring Tunmi and Youngsta followed by “Juice Back” where he featured Davido and Cassper Nyovest. He was the youngest recipient for an award the “Best Freshman Award” at the 2015 South African Hip Hop Awards. He dropped his second studio album, titled Strings & Bling in July 2018.  The TINA Magazine in 2018 named him as one of the best rappers in South Africa and Africa.

Nasty C Early Life

He began rapping at the tender age of nine. His older brother had a huge influence on him being a music producer at the time. Gradually, he mastered the process of producing music and began adding his vocals on the beats he was making. Few years later, he got signed to a Durban-based artist management company – Free World Music.

It has been rumoured that Nasty C is in a serious relationship with Ntombizodwa Beatrice Sibanyoni. It is said that she has been his girlfriend since the 9th grade at Nuz Junior High in Umlazi town, Durban.

Nasty C Music Career   

The stage name ‘Nasty C’ was given to him by the first producer he ever worked with. He released “One Kid a Thousand Coffins”, being his first mixtape on 24 May 2012. He released his second project titled “L.A.M.E” on 4 April 2014. L.A.M.E. is an acronym for “Levitating Above My Enemies”. He went on to release his highly successful mixtape, titled “Price City” on 10 February 2015. He got featured on Anatii and Cassper Nyovest’s collaborative single “Jump” on 9 January 2016. He then released the official music video to the single “Juice Back” on 17 January 2016.

On 15 February 2018, he announced that he has officially signed to Universal Music Group and had departed from Mabala Noise. Nasty C had always dreamt of meeting one of his major influences, this became a reality when he met AKA, and opened for him during the nationwide album launch for AKA’s debut studio album “Altar Ego”. AKA was the first to shower Nasty C with praise and Nasty C commented that performing alongside AKA at a Durban festival was one of the best experiences of his life.

 Nasty C Bad Hair

He released “Hell Naw” as the first single off his debut album “Bad Hair” Early 2016, which was set to be released later on. The single “Hell Naw” peaked as number 4 on the music charts in South Africa. The song also came number 1 on The Beat 99.9 FM African Top 10 chart in Nigeria. After he signed to Mabala Noise Entertainment, he finally released his highly anticipated project “Bad Hair” on music streaming platform Audiomack. He later explained that this was due to a sample he couldn’t clear from one song in time before the release.Nasty C dropped an extended version of Bad Hair, titled Bad Hair Extensions with notable singles like “Allow” featuring the American rapper, French Montana in December 2016.

Nasty C Strings And Bling Album

He released his second studio album Strings and Bling on 6th July 2018. The album’s release was followed by three singles “Jungle”, “King” and “Legendary”. The Album featured guest appearances from American rapper A$AP Ferg, Rowlene and Kaien Cruz. The album was produced by Gemini Major and record producer Tweezy, it was praised for being remarkable. Nasty C is often times praised for his lyricism. However, the album was also being criticized for being too long and having too much filler. The album received wide acclaim as one of the best rap albums of 2018 in South Africa.
