Our very own MasterKraft was christened Sunday Ginikachukwu Nweke and he is one of the best Nigerian record producers. He is also a disc jockey, pianist, band director, and songwriter. He started making music at a young age but took it as a professional career when he began working with Kennis Music.

Since then, he has worked with and produced a lot of dancehall / afrobeat tracks with talented artist such as Timaya, Flavour N’abania, Banky W, M.I, J. Martins, Lynxxx, Sound Sultan, Bracket, CDQ, Wizkid, just to mention but a few.

He has produced favorite hit tracks like: “Ukwu” by Timaya, “Kwarikwa (Remix)” by Flavour N’abania featuring Fally Ipupa, “Fine lady” by Lynxxx featuring Wizkid, “Jasi” by Banky W, “Girl” by Bracket and many others. He is ranked among the top ten Music Producers in Nigeria by many reports. Sources have it that he charges a minimum of 500,000 Naira for just a single production of a track.

This renowned music producer, Masterkraft was born on 28th June, in Ajegunle, Lagos State, Nigeria. He did his primary and secondary education at United Christian Secondary School, Apapa, Lagos State and had ambitions of becoming an accountant.

He was a brilliant kid, and he came out with the first position in the whole of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government, in the Common Entrance Examination he took back then, which made the Government to offer him a scholarship to two schools.

His poor and uneducated parents who did not understand the meaning of scholarship rejected it and thereby shattering his educational career and his dreams of becoming an accountant because they never had money to help him further his education.

He had to hawk “pure-water,” tissue paper and many other things and even served as a “houseboy” for some years to survive. He was always filled with frustration and sadness, and the only thing that made him happy and joyful was music, which he started at a very young age of 11 years.

As a member of a “White garment” church, he was always playing music in the church, and that gave him hope. He was and still is, an excellent pianist.


Masterkraft started music at a very young age; he also learned how to play the piano single-handedly.

He went professional after his friend’s group won”Star Quest” and wanted him to produce for them after Kennis music signed them, which was the regular practice back then. Kenny Ogungbe, the Kennis music boss, signed Masterkraft in 2009, after being impressed with his work.

Masterkraft’s breakthrough in the Music Industry came when he started working with M.I and Banky W.

He has worked with EME and coached EME artist like Skales and Wizkid in their vocals, back then. EME Boss Banky W sponsored his first appearance on a national daily. Apart from Banky W and M.I, he has worked with many other Nigerian artists like J. Martins, Jaywon, Stella Damascus, Capital F.E.M.I, Sammie Okposo, Bracket, Sound Sultan, Flavour and many others. He has even worked with the famous American Rapper, Busta Rhymes.

Masterkraft is currently the CEO of Mastetkraft Beats. He was the producer of Flavour’s “Power to Win,” which was used for the Glo 2014 Nigerian World Cup campaign and was also licensed among the soundtrack for American Idol Season 14 (2015).In 2015, Coke Studio (Season 3), he was among the commissioned guest producers of this Africa’s exciting music show.
