Humblesmith, as we all know him, is an Afro-pop recording artist and actor in Nigeria. Ekenedilichukwu Ijemba as is called by birth is better known for his hit single “Osinachi” He sings with a fusion of highlife in the Afropop genre of music.

He is also known for the movie “Hypertension,” created in 2010 which starred Sam Loco Efe.


Humblesmith was born May 14th, 1991 in Ideato North Local Government area of Imo State; He is originally from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. His father was a stations dealer while his mom was a teacher. At age Six, Humblesmith began dancing and entertaining his family.

He dreamed of becoming an artist; this dream increased as he often listened to songs made by Bright Chimezie who is one of his role models. Growing up, living was quite hard, he and his siblings hawked Moi Moi at some point to bring in some money for their family.

During this time, he also began to lead a group of boys to perform at various social functions and church functions; they called themselves “The American Boys.”



At some point, Humbesmith decided to take his music beyond his hometown and therefore left for Delta State.

In Asaba, he took on menial jobs to make ends meet and decided to try out Acting. This was when he appeared as an actor in Hypertension with Sam Loco Efe. He wished only to become an outstanding entertainer, to do this, he started performing at events for free. He began making impressions in Asaba, and one day, the DG Records decided to sign him up after one of his performances.

In 2012, Humblesmith finally began to see the light at the end of the tunnel. He left Asaba for Lagos State. This was where he released his hit single “Chairmoo.” In 2015, he released another hit single “Osinachi” which featured top musicians like Davido and Phyno. This music rocked the streets and stayed atop the billboards for many weeks.

In 2016, he released another hit single titled “Jukwese” featuring Flavour N’abania. This song again hit the streets earning him more popularity than ever before. To further promote his album, he organized a concert which he titled “JukweseContest.” This was carried out via Instagram, and the prize for the contest was fixed at $2,000.
