Harrison Tare Okiri AKA Harrysong is a Nigerian songwriter,  Singer and Instrumentalist. He was born on the 30th of March, 1981 in Warri,  Delta state,  Nigeria to Ijaw parents. This article covers Harrysong biography, career and other facts about the highlife superstar singer.


He didn’t complete his education after the death of his mother due to tense relationship between him and stepmother and this led him to dropping out from school.


At the age of eleven, he began his music career as a organist in the church his mother attended and as the music director, before he went on to study contemporary gospel music.


In 2007, Harrysong moved to Lagos state after spending his early days in Port Harcourt after being dumped by his girlfriend for a richer man which gave him motive for his move. He became the lead Singer of a live band and performed in night clubs in Lagos. It was where He met the Nigerian artiste Kcee while performing in O’Jez club, Kcee later signed him into Five Star Music. He also became a songwriter for Five Star Music Records. He said “I was nobody before he(Kcee) met me, he and his friends used to watch me perform. So one day, I decided to approach them and they put me through and that is how we became very close”. He rose to fame with the release of his singles ‘Taiye & Kehinde’ and ‘I’m in Love’ with the music video for ‘I’m in Love’ topping music video charts including Trace TV. He went on to release his debut album with the record label ‘Questionmark Entertainment’ in 2012.

Harrysong was inspired by the story of Nelson Mandela and decided to do a tribute song for him after his death. His tribute song to Nelson Mandela won him the ‘Most Downloaded Callertune Award’ at the Headies 2013. He reportedly made up to 50 million Naira from MTN caller tunes for the song. After the release of his chart topping song ‘Better Pikin’ in 2014, he was nominated in the ‘Best Pop/R&B Artist of the Year’ category at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. He released one of his popular song in 2015 ‘Reggae Blues’ which he featured Olamide,  Kcee, Iyanya and Orezi. He has launched his own Record Label which he called ‘AlterPlate’, he revealed that to own his own Label has always been his dream for a long time.

He is currently single but plans to get married soon.


Harrysong signed a multi million Naira endorsement deal with MTN in 2014, it was also renewed in 2015.

He also had an endorsement deal with UAC Foods for Gala sausage on January 1st 2016.


Harrysong is worth 1.6 million US Dollars.
