Former Manchester United player, Garth Crooks claims Virgil van Dijk, could leave Liverpool if his side fails to win Champions League this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side would tackle Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final on June 1 in Madrid.
Liverpool reached the final after defeating Barcelona in the semi-final encounter, while Tottenham defeated Ajax.
But Crooks believes Virgil van Dijk could leave Liverpool if they lose a second consecutive Champions League final next month.
I have almost run out of highest extent to describe the Dutch performances this season, Crooks told BBC Sport.
However Crooks believes what the Dutch has brought to Liverpool’s defence is so unquantifiable.
According to him if Liverpool fail to win the Champions League, and that is by no means certain, that may hasten Van Dijk’s departure.
His an excellent player and need to be playing for the best team in the world.
