Bracket biography is about the life and career of a Nigerian music duo that is made up of Obumneme Ali (Smash) and Nwachukwu Ozioko (Vast). They are also songwriters, Stage performers, and models. Smash is light skinned while Vast is dark skinned. Smash was born on 26th of September and Bash on the 10th of April. They both grew up in Nsukka, Enugu state, Nigeria, in the same neighborhood. They attended the same campus shows while in secondary school but did not get to know each other until later. Nwachukwu Vast has a National Diploma from the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu (IMT) in Mass Communication and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Obumneme Smash has a National Diploma in Social works from IMT and also a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
They both were inspired by Micheal Jackson and 2Pac who they recorded their songs in their tape recorders, writing and memorizing the lyrics to perform in school shows. They came to know each other in one of the school shows they attended.
The group started out with their former member, Igwebuike Amobi (Bistop) and Nwachukwu Vast who went on Star Quest with the stage name, ‘Furious BV’ but did not come out successful. Obumneme Smash joined them later on in 2003 which made them change their stage name to ‘South Bracket.’ Bistop left the group after some misunderstanding between them and their former associate producer. After Bistop left, they changed their stage name to Bracket.
Bracket- the musical story
They released their first album as Bracket titled ‘Happy Day’ in 2006. Their debut album as a duo turned out as a success. Their second album was released in 2009, titled ‘Least Expected.’ The album featured the single ‘Yori Yori’ which means happiness and was a hit breaking song for them bringing them to the limelight. The single also brought them a lot of successful concerts and tours which they made around the world including in Kenya, Netherlands, South America, Tanzania, Uganda, and the USA. ‘Yori Yori’ also won them many awards. They released their third album, ‘Cupid Stories’ which was a 14 track album with collaborations from several popular artists including M.I, Flavour, Banky W, Wizkid and others. The songs in the album were produced by Decumzy, Masterkraft and Phyno. Their fourth album, ‘Alive’ was released in 2015. The album was a thanksgiving album thanking God for keeping Vast alive.

Bracket Nigerian Artist Cancer Struggles — Bracket Biography
Nwachukwu Vast spent seven months undergoing treatment for Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. He was declared free of the disease on the 24th of August 2013 in Platinum Medical Centre in Wellington, London.
Since their surprise retraction from the music scene, they have kept their relationships and personal affairs out of the media, not much is known about them.
