Aramede Sarumoh whom we all know as Aramide is a songwriter and singer born in the year, 1985, on the 23rd of June. She originated from Ibadan, Oyo State and discovered her passion for singing and writing at an early age. Aramide did her primary education as well as secondary education in Lagos, before moving to the University of Jos, where she studied Political Science. She is not just a passionate singer but also a saxophonist and guitarist.

Aramide began her journey into music in 2006, when she contested alongside many others in one of Nigeria’s most renowned music talent hunt shows, Star Quest. Her group were quite excellent at the show and emerged “3rd Runners-Up”. This served as a stepping stone, and she moved up to fine-tune her musical skills. She emerged yet again in 2008, starring in a show “ Divas unplugged” which is quite popular in Jos, Nigeria. Her participation in the show as one of the leading roles was a firm push in her career in the music Industry. And by 2014, She was first signed into the Trype Records before moving to the Baseline Music Records.
Her hit single “Iwo Nikan” was released within a year after signing with the new record label and it was quite the pull for her career. She won many awards for that lovely songs. Her music is heavily influenced by the likes of Mirian Makeba, Sade, Erykah Bada and Angelique Kidijo. She sings in Yoruba and English, through a combination of soul and jazz to depict the music style, she calls “Afro-Soul.”
She released her debut album on November 22, 2016, and titled it SUITCASE. This lovely album featured the likes of Sir Dauda, Koker, Ice Prince, Sound Sultan, and Adekunle Gold. Production credits are awarded to the likes of Laitan Dada, SizzlePro, Tintin and Cobhams Asuquo.
In the early parts of the year 2017, she did her debut tour to Ghana, United States and across many states in Nigeria. It was titled “Aramide Suitcase Live,” and during this tour, she performed at the Legendary Sounds of Brazil (SOBs) which is located in New York. In the latter part of the year, she toured Canada and received even greater success and popularity.
One of her hit single “ I Don’t Care” heralded the number 1 spot of the MTN Yhello Top 10 Nigeria Chart for many weeks. Many of her hit singles have also hit the peak positions of famous Charts such as the Alternative Music Niaja, The Beat 99.9 FM Chat, Playdate Chart and many more.
