He was an American football tight end, a skilled player in the game when he played for the New England Patriots in the NFL for only three seasons before being released by the team as soon as he was arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd. He and another teammate and fellow draftee Rob Gronkowski were regarded as one of the most dominant tight-end duos in the league. The pair became the first to score 5 touchdowns each in two straight seasons for the same team. Hernandez and his brother Dennis played for the University of Connecticut before he decided he wanted to play for the University of Florida. The new coach became Urban Mayor. He played for the new team until his junior school year. In 2010, he was drafted by the New England Patriots of the National Football League alongside fellow tightend Rob Gronkowski. However, his draft stock dropped as soon as there were reports that he was a Marijuana user. Nevertheless, the Patriots still signed him in 2010 on a four-year contract. He only played for the team for two years and was released as soon as he was arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd.
